Steve Carlesi is fondly remembered, with a brief appearance by Stinky.
Management dopes. Funny rape jokes are funny. The shitty painting should be a media project. Paterno's head on a pole. Snow-day audio.
Bill Burr is on the blower. 'What's the deal with airline peanuts?'
Hank Simpson battles the marketers. Bill's a big star now. Steve the gay cat.
FX lineup reviewed. When the lights went out ... unexpected Worst Of.
Jim Jefferies phoner. Ticket trouble and news.
"I guess that's the way the whole durned human comedy keeps perpetuatin' itself".
"YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!" thank you david.
ReplyDeleteis jimmy back today?
No James, no Sam.
DeleteThanks bro for all your service.
ReplyDeleteAnd this, my friends, will be a show to remember.
ReplyDeleteI'm only an hour in and I can already tell this will be a show to remember.
DeleteWas it a show to remember?
DeleteWas what a show to remember? lol. jk it definitely was.
DeleteRIP big bear ugh crappy Friday :( Am I hearing correctly that it was due to complications from lap band surgery?
ReplyDeleteRIP Steve C
Lights went out? Unexpected worst of? Intriguing. I started listening to the show every day just after Steve C left so I dont know a lot about him outside of Yeeeeeees. Nevertheless - rest in peace.
ReplyDeleteNo, the lights out thing is misleading. Sorry.
DeleteThey just play the old bit about Scott Muni's Empire State sniper nest.
anyone know how it happened?
ReplyDeleteBeen waiting for this one since I heard the news.
ReplyDeleteThanks, man.
and that's how you executive produce
ReplyDeletehow did you parents die?
that's terrible i'm sorry
nononononono
grrrrr
Does anyone think the show could end this year?
ReplyDeletedon't they say that every year? maybe they will just podcast. it would suck either way this show is like heroin.
DeleteI hope it's the end of the show on Sirius/XM.. that company will never stop killing the show.
DeleteHopefully they go the podcast route considering Cumia has a studio in his compound and bring back the really great shit they just can't do anymore.
I bet it won't. I get the impression there's nothing else in the pipeline. If a new buyer comes in there'd be justification to stay on.
DeleteOpie bitches about money but podcasting just doesn't seem to have the $ in it when you look at someone like Marc Maron, who claims he's not really above the struggle and he's got one of the most popular shows out. But who knows though! Opie said he never has to work again so maybe he'd suffer for his art.
I'd be shocked if they didn't re-up at Sirius. Claims of "fuck you" money or no, with the way Anthony spends, Opie and his wife shitting out babies and Norton legitimately loving doing radio, it makes too much sense for it to not happen. I've thought Opie's podcast bit was a negotiation tactic from the first time he "let it slip" on the air. My guess is they're trying to not go the part-time route like Howard, but maybe trying to get a bigger studio, a little more cash and maybe a couple four day weeks here and there. Pure speculation, but I guarantee they stick around.
DeleteYes of course it's a negotiation "tactic". Opie's a ham-handed moron that made his strategy(if it can be called that) known about 8 seconds after he first mentioned podcasting.
DeleteJust like his constant non sequiturs of "I'm so leaving after October!" and "I've got Fuck You Money!" followed by a fake and uncomfortable Ant chuckle. No you aren't, and no you don't Opie. You have one kid and another on the way, you have a hot young wife, and you live in a gigantic Manhattan apartment and you're looking for a beach house. The level of Fuck You Money it would take to fuel that lifestyle for the rest of your life would need to reach Howard proportions.
Fuck off Opie and leave this sculpture of sand to Ant and Jim before you fuck everything up...
Tell us how you really feel next time.. :/
DeleteHow great would it be if Steve just had his wife tell Erock's wife that he'd died to get out of the house warming thing?
ReplyDeleteDoes anybody have the link that Foundry album?
ReplyDeletesad to hear about steve. he was very entertaining. feel horrible for his wife and child.
ReplyDeleteThe Foundry album "What Kills Me" is up on itunes I believe
ReplyDeletebuy it and support his family
ReplyDeletesteve provided soooo many great clips over the years. and impersonating his gay voice is addicting.
ReplyDelete"I'm really queer! I'm really queer!"
YEEEES
Off-topic but what are you thinking about Louie this season?
ReplyDeleteDoes anybody know of a site that has O&A shows from the XM days (ca. 2004-2009)? The old Steve bits were so funny, I'd love to download some of those episodes.
