Sleepy Jim. Time magazine cover, nutty moms suckling big huge kids. Dr Steve on the phone, nipple and fluid chat is right up his straße.
Misheard words and phrases, mustard mess. Old tit-milk tape played. Ant crawls off deathbed and phones the show. Sounds all beat to shit.
More whooping cough fear. Pretzel vendors versus idiot autism scare. Romney high school haircut. Jimbo goes obscure, hot Nancy Allen clip.
Sam gets a little more help with putting his wedding vows together. Breastfeeding tape played out to close show, Vos does a smashing.

Sam is curious about deep fat fryers. Erik and Roland not much help.

  2. Well, this sad week of ONA (worst in history?) has conclusively shown that Opie is not capable of doing a solo podcast, if that's what he was dreaming about post October. Poor Jimmy is so beat up he's not even there sometimes. Let's just put this one behind us.

    1. I disagree. It was a great week of radio - resting entirely on Opie's back.

    2. I agree, Opie and really depressing, boring and mean without ant. His podcast is gonna suck.

Nothing like getting parenting commentary from Jim Norton.

I get that Ant is not around, but why can't they get funny guests that will liven up the show ? Where's Vos ? Where's Jim Jeffries ? Where's Mike Birbiglia ? I can't believe all they could get was Tom Papa, that unfunny, superstitious, dream-clairvoyant.

    1. Even though he sounds like he may already be dead, Ant's call into the show made for the funniest segment of radio all week.

Could have been worse, it could have been that annoying hack Colin Kane. That guy is horrendous.

  11. How great would life be if Opie were to get hit by a short bus? I know Ant fake laughs at every thing either Jimmy or most guests have to say but solo Opie is the worst thing on the radio. He's slow, dimwitted and can barely form a coherent sentence. Surely I'm not the only who's noticed he has nothing to say when most guests come in to the studio. The tard watches reality TV for hours at a time, how about we spend some time with a book -- that's not about reality TV.

    1. He was just saying the other day how he doesn't have the time to watch Game of Thrones because of his son, yet a day or two later he commented on how he will watch hours and hours of reality TV. Typical contradictory statements from a muffle-mouthed douche.

  14. The people who don't realize how blatantly awful Opie is must be similarly dull or something.

Opie has NO critical thinking abilities. He comprehends the world around him at the most superficial level. Anyone on this forum could do his job.

What's more annoying than the Opie bashers are the Opie defenders. They come out of the woodwork to defend him with banal comments like "Then don't listen to the fucking show."

    2. Appeal to authority fallacy: "Ant says you guys suck, so you suck!"

I have yet to hear anyone articulate why they enjoy Opie or believe he has any talent. However, I have heard mounds of contrary opinions.

Just admit Opie sucks and all is forgiven. Remember today when he was talking about how he was a "genius at math and science" in high school? How fucking laughable.

Sorry to website creator if he doesn't want this sort of salty language on his website. I am very grateful for you to post the show.

Opie directs the show, Ant and Jim bring the funny. I never have and never will say Opie is one of the 'funny guys' but he directs the show.

      Deal with it.

LOL @ MrSerialX thinking that Opie directs the show. I guess that you didn't hear the shows over the past year where Opie was out because it showed that Ant & Jim could do a show just as well only it didn't have constant interruptions and flow breaking boredom.

  15. It's weird, as the week of 20-25 Feb where Ant was on vacation, Opie did a solid week by himself (and Jimmy). It did help he had Ronnie B on the last one. But this week could probably be the worst week in OnA for quite a while, it seems that whole lack of energy and lessened edge just was brought forward this week.

I'm sick of you fucking idiots trashing opie, it's his fucking show. None of this would exist without him. You come in here and complain, you clearly are not a true fan of the show. Why are you sitting through 3 hours of this then? If I could explain things metaphorically, the O&A show can be compared to a volley ball game. Opie sets it up for Anthony and jimmy to spike it. Understand? If you don't like opie, you might prefer howard stern. Most of the bits that have been done were opie's ideas, it's not 2006 anymore and they don't get as much opportunities as they use to anymore. Fucking lawyers and Sirius xm execs. Opie fucking rubbed vos's baby's diaper shit on his face like a fucking mustache! He cares a ton about the show and that's why unfortunately for the show for the past couple of years he constantly has to complain about it, and you dumb new fans just don't get the potential this show has. Fuck man. When Anthony got his job it was because Anthony and his brother were constantly approaching opie with his tapes and such, he was an air conditioning guy. They took a chance on him and he was brilliant, and then jimmy came along also super hilarious and because of the show he now has a standup career that is even bigger than the show. So fuck you trashing opie. He makes the show work, he makes these guys look great so I understand where you are coming from, but respect the dude. Again "David my son david" thank you for the uploads. Lol It's like a Christian being like,i'm not so into Jesus but I totally dig the stories and the virgin Mary was hilarious.

    2. Totally understand, Opie sets up the show, and some of the best minutes in audio history have been his, he practically invented cringe radio.

Unfortunately, as a solo act, he's . . . not good. That's just a fact, he needs a supporting cast, and with Ant gone and Jimmy wounded (and no high watt guest host apparently available), it was a somber week. Ten years ago, a much brighter and more animated Opie might have pulled it off, particularly with a better staff (Sam's voice is like tinfoil on teeth, and he's a terrible board op). But a bitter and disillusioned Opie is not very much fun, especially on his own. That doesn't mean we don't love him.

  19. This week did not prove the individual worth of any of the guys. We've seen Jimmy out before, we've seen Ant out before, and we've seen Opie out before, with each circumstance bringing up the same general observations from us.

This week sucked not because it lacked Ant's presence or because Opie can't do good radio by himself. It sucked because the guys were all under the weather, Jimmy was exhausted, the week's news was very slow, and the show had no guests. Sounds like a formula for complete disaster, no matter how charismatic or funny the hosts are, if you ask me.

To be honest, I thought the show did a great job given the cards they were dealt. The sleep mask, pertussis, and parenting breaks would've been excessive on a usual week, but given the shitty circumstances of this week, it was fine.

To be honest, it would take far worse radio banter for me to ever considering skipping an O&A episode. Probably a little pathetic on my part, but what can I say, it makes my car rides much more enjoyable. Thanks, David!

  20. Opie needs Anthony, Anthony needs Opie.

I did lose my shit and have to replay the part when Opie sneezed and yelled, "OH-GOD-IM-SICK-PERTUSSIS-FUCK."
