Any fall-out from yesterday's travel fiasco? Office Space management turds past and present considered and berated. Meatball discussion.
After show Erock comes on strong, but fades fast. Who's a pretty boy? "I invented airbrushing, tell 'em Fred". Olympic hurdler starts crying.
Jimmy likes Randy Travis, course he does. We find out what Ant likes.
Peek behind the curtain. Big long Elton John intro. Chemical attack. Kenny's Travel Update. Dr Drew is not a nice guy. Snakes and guns.

Gloryhole. Conjoined twins, double heads Cumia! A big surprise guest. DJ Whoo Kid makes a gift of Mike Tyson to the show. Goes very well.

  1. Damn. Long show today. I waited about well over half an hour for this to be posted and was worried about Ant, Opie, and Jimmy, but I'm happy now thanks to you.

    1. The file did 1300 downloads in the last 30minutes.

If we don't get a whole bunch of comments in the next 8-9 minutes I'm gonna play the odds on this one.
What's the filesize report at on the one you downloaded (should be 93.98MB)? Have you tried downloading again? Are you syncing it to a device from a computer?

    2. I think that it was just my work computer. Got a new one just now and it works fine. Thanks for the swift reply.

    4. Did you cancel it and try again?
Did it go slow on the retry?

If you are stuck, you could always just stream/play it from the YouTube link.

  7. These past couple of shows have been utter shit. FF'd through most of the filler for maybe 20 minutes of content in total.

  8. Irish Chip literally made me cry-laugh. Hit the 1:55:45 mark if you missed it.

  9. I LOVE Troy's total failure to compete with Dru Boogie when it comes to "re-purposed audio" remixes. Every time he brings a song to the show it STINKS.

  10. SO WHAT WAS THE SONG THAT PLAYED OVER THE MONTAGE?!?!?!?

  11. Thx again. Only a couple of months left and hopefully more great guests (not all jizz talk) but one thing to mention:
Jimmy is correct. Dr Drew takes the worst of the worst. In fact, Drew has a good success rate. At those levels almost NONE will become sober, almost ALL will relapse (multiple times) and yes.. death rates (eventually within a few years) are very very common.
It make a funny bit but the sad harsh reality is that Dr.Drew actually has a very good overall rate considering the levels he deals with.

  14. Hey David, or anybody else who can answer:

Is there a substantial difference in sound quality if you upload these in the standard 64 kbps bit rate or if you do, say, 128 kbps, 192 kbps, 256 kbps, or 320 kbps? When it comes to listening to music, I like to download stuff at nothing short of 192kbps. It just sounds a lot better and crisper, especially on my home soundsystem.

Just curious if there's any sort of difference at all with O&A, but I assume that, since O&A is nearly all vocal, it won't make much, if any, difference. Have you ever checked into that sorta thing?

Thanks, and have a great weekend!

    1. For voices talking on a radio show with squeaky mics, 64k is more than plenty I'd say.

If the boys decide to have the reanimated corpses of Rostropovich and du Pré battling it out one morning, I'd definitely splurge for a few more bits, but Uncle Paul reminiscing sounds fine in compact lo-fidelity.

24kHz sample rate drops file size in half straight away and a Nyquist of 12k is plenty for human speech, 64kbps bitrate saves more space, and joint stereo saves a little more, and it all sounds just fine ... faster to upload, faster to download especially on mobile plans and devices, easier to archive.

Sometimes 'good enough' actually turns out to be good enough.

    2. I would support an O&A cell'-off. That being said, thank you for putting shallow and pedantic nick in his place. You do good work.

    3. Not sure how exactly I got dragged in the middle of this one. I was just answering a question about bitrates.

  16. For talk radio I find 64 is often plenty good enough. For reasons I can't explain I thought Dennis Miller's show sounds noticeably trashy at 64 and then much better at 128. I'm guessing this is something to do with their mic/mixer/recording rig (whatever they got) but i just know 128 helps
But for these 64 seems to be just fine or at least I don't notice much difference anyways.
