Global Pests - Part II

Click screenshot or click here for full-size, zoomable map.
Unique ip addresses that visited blog for one random day last week. Location data is best effort. 'Untraced' addresses are not plotted.
Map is just for fun, accurate geolocation is tricky, especially wireless ... but it sort of looks right, no major surprises, and a nice diversity. Finland and Norway look low, Blogger reports them a little higher.
Site is doing, on average, around 5000 downloads per show. Cheers.

  1. I from Sweden and I would pretty much make love to you out of pure gratitude over the fact that this exists. I honestly think these clips could cure depression.

  2. I'm in Ohio and I have this page set as my homepage, so every time I open my browser, you pop up. I'm probably responsible for about ten of those Ohio ones. Yay! :)

    1. Depends, the code makes sure to sort visitors by unique ip address ... so for most people it doesn't matter how many times they refresh or visit, they will only be counted once.

    2. Oh. Well, regardless, I thank you so much for providing this service! The Gregg and Tony show with Dr. Norton is my favorite thing on the planet! You're the best for these speedy daily uploads which brighten my day. Or, as Club Soda Kenny would say, "You should really be commended for your generosity!"

  3. I see you only have one from Jamaica and I'm guessing that's me. I found it through old clips of Patrice O'Neal on YouTube, then I got hooked on O&A itself. Thanks to these uploads I can listen everyday and get my daily laughs.

  4. Norwegian here, thank you for your service.
Would be nice to talk exclusively to some other Norwegian O&A fans.

  6. How cool is it that some people are downloading it while they are, presumably, on vacation cruises in the Atlantic!

  11. It still baffles me that Swedes and Germans and Italians and Australians and everything else in between would want to listen to O&A. I don't know if that's a testament to the fact that America still has at least one quality radio show left, or if the rest of the world's media and entertainment blows as much as I believe it does. Probably both.

Fuckin' globalization man. It's a machine that is out of our control.

    1. It's true what they say about culture being America's largest export. Here in Germany most TV shows are either dubbed Hollywood shows or cheap rip-offs. Same probably goes for the rest of Europe. But I do think most listeners outside the US are either military bases here or people like me who have lived in the US and will get some of the references that go way beyond what the average European would be familiar with.

      Delete
    2. Europeans are exposed to a *lot* of American-made content. US shows are aired here pretty much every hour of the day. We might not get the latest shows the same week, but eventually everything gets shown here.

Since most Europeans have access to high-speed internet and all speak English to some degree... it's very easy for us to find good American content. I torrent a *lot* of shows that way. I enjoy watching Game of Thrones for example.

So since we enjoy and understand your content... it's really no surprise that shows like O&A would translate well to our audiences. We might not get the football or baseball references, but the jokes go over just fine.

    3. I discovered O&A after searching for some Jim Jefferies stuff. What's interesting to me is that I don't find guys like Jim Norton and many guest comics all that funny in their stand-up environment. It's the relationship between Anthony and Jim in the studio and the unplanned shit they come up with that does it for me. Similarly to Europe, at least 40% of content here in Australia is from the US and nothing like 0&A exists.

    4. Plus Australian stand-up comedians (Jeffries doesn't count) SUCK, which forced me to look for comedy in America. I found the show through a 'related video' on Youtube, it was the segment where Patrice goofed on Syfy films.

    5. True, comedy and radio both suck here in Australia. The only thing that every got close to something like O&A was called Get This and was cancelled after a couple of years.
I came across O&A after becoming a fan of Tough Crowd which was on cable here, and then looking for more of Jimmy & Patrice's stuff.

I wanna know who the hell is listening in Guam

  13. I'm listening in Guam - can't get Sirius XM here - the satellite is on the other side of the planet!

The radio stations suck here - top 40, island music, and an 80's station (!!). OA helps me keep my sanity.

If it weren't for this site I'd probably wouldn't listen to O&A. SiriusXM is one of the stupidest companies on the planet.

  19. I'm listening from Denmark. Discovered the show through Lazlow, when he did his show on Krock and then Xm.
I used to download through a private tracker, but I do love the direct links and consistency here, so thank you.

  22. I'm a long time listener from WBAB and WNEW moved to Portland oregon from Huntington station, NY. Thanks a bunch David. Every morning I brew coffee and download the show on my Droid and listen through the day as I bike around town. I hope my gratitude is payment enough cuz I'm broke as fuck. Xoxo.

PS - any pests in pdx wanna start a fight club?

  24. Trevor from Buffalo, NY. I've sent my gratitude before. I don't mind sending it again. You fucking complete me dude. I CAN NOT see myself going through a day without this brilliance of a site on my Android device and Gregg, Tony, and Jim themselves. Fucking love you man. God I'm balling up my fists, slamming my desk, grinding my teeth, squinting my eyes with the amount of love and attachment I have for you. Anyways, I digress...I appreciate you, this site, and all that is greggtonyandjim.blogspot.com . If you ever stopped or this site became inaccessible, I would be in a state of disbelief, despair, and unprecedented anguish and pain. A year ago, I was waiting until fucking 11 o'clock at night just to find a torrent for the "same-day's" show. Today, I'm hearing "gooooooood moe-nin...welcummm uh-boe-ud" before Shitty Sam Shit Show Sam can puke out his first Shit Show Sam Sentence. However, I still download the Shit Show for archiving purposes, ya know? Just to say "I have it" kinda thing? And just in case the big guys stay late to enhance the Sheeeit Show. Which I will have a good idea of thanks to the great little brief synopsis accompanying each show link. Just a little extra thing to help me figure out how I should allocate my shitty mobile 3g download speed, (waste on shit show? don't waste on shit show?) another thing that makes your site the bomb fuck ass diggity. Are you exhausted reading yet? Wow I'm such a self absorbed attention whore thinking people may want to read this word vomit. Long story short: love your site, appreciate the hard work, don't ever stop, Trevor from Buffalo.

    PS- lol, nothing.

    1. It is only the (thousands of) US ip addresses that got subdivided ... for now, you are in with all the other Canadians in the icon hovering over that hotel in the middle of Saskatchewan.

Had a quick look at the logfile though, and found 47 ip addresses that report back as British Columbia. Did think about splitting Canada, will do it next time.

    2. It really would be appreciated, for what it's worth. Not like I'm some fuckin Knows-Everybody-In-Town McGillicutty, but I certainly don't know anybody else who listens to or even knows of the show in Calgary. Would be neato to see who our local compatriots are. I hate that I've typed all this.

  26. I'm jealous of all the hits. 5000 beats the hell out of my 50-100 on Ted's. Wish mine hit that, lol. Hell even my R&F don't get that and I'm pretty much it atm for the buddays. Anyways, I agree that we need to get more people recording as we can never have enough.

    1. The Ron&Fez thing is a total mystery. I always listen live, but the thought that so much or Mr B's radio genius just drifts into the aether unheard always saddens.

Well ... listen live until I can't tolerate any more Fez nonsense, check-out and come back later. Hopefully once he gets locked in the nut-hut for keeps, and Dave returns home, maybe more people will be encouraged to download themselves a slice of Mr Bennington wisdom.

My thoughts on the state of recording have always been the same. One or two guys pounding away day-in day-out till they get tired of it and then everyone scrambles for the next two guys, has always been an inefficient way of doing things.

Ideally, I'd have suggested maybe four guys minimum on a rota, one week you are on point as primary source, two weeks you act as one of the two backups for the primary, and one week you are on vacation.
They can all maintain separate sites/blogs, it would only the audio files that need to be shared.

Anyhoo, cheers for stopping by. All the best.

    2. I stopped listening because of Fez. Dude is 50+ years old and cries over nothing and we got soldiers 40 years and younger dying in Iraq. Makes me sick when I hear his voice

  27. Hi im the one from Chile.

For some reason i though that there were more people in south america, i guess thats why my wow painted donkey gets no haggard 3rd world titties to pop out.
So let me send you a starving hello from my run down, zinc roffed hut here in the literal butthole of the world.

God dammit it sucks to live in this shithole, i would gladly make a 6 moth hellride in a container full of sweaty chinamen to get to the fucking USA.
